In an imperial court in ancient China, it has been a few months since a 17-year-old girl known as Maomao was kidnapped and forced to work as a low-level servant at the emperor's palace.

Still, she manages to retain her curious and pragmatic spirit, planning to work until her years of servitude are over. One day, however, she catches wind of the fact that the emperor's two infants have fallen gravely ill. She decides to secretly take action, drawing on her experience as a pharmacist raised in the poor red-light district.

Despite Maomao's attempts to remain anonymous, she soon catches the eye of Jinshi, an influential eunuch who recognizes her talents. Maomao soon finds herself in the emperor's inner court, where she gradually makes a name for herself by utilizing her knowledge and eccentric personality to solve various medical mysteries.

Story: It's truly a remarkable time to be alive when one of the standout anime of 2023 is themed around oriental culture. Kusuriya no Hitorigoto is an enchanting anime that excels in multiple aspects, from its engaging characters to its exceptional music, stunning artwork, superb voice acting, and clever humor.

Art : The art direction and character animation in Kusuriya no Hitorigoto are nothing short of magnificent, with meticulous attention to detail in character design and attire. The animation quality, even during ordinary moments, is impeccable, elevating the overall viewing experience and setting a new standard in the anime world.

Story: The story seems unique and interesting to me, that's perhaps the main reason to start the anime. But the characters are the biggest problem. The heroine is unusually intelligent and the main male character falls in love with her in two seconds and basically falls in love with her for no solid reason. I think the plot between these two is a bit hard to believe.

Art: The music is a true standout, seamlessly complementing the story and immersing the audience in its narrative. The voice acting is exceptional, injecting the characters with depth and vitality, thereby enriching the series with their performances!
